Cumulus House | Uncrate
Fusing post-war Californian modernism with traditional Australian fibro beach shacks, the Cumulus House delivers a minimalist oceanfront retreat. The weekend home is sited on a steep hillside and is comprised of a simple box perched on a series of slender columns. Orientated to the north, the interior is afforded sweeping views over the coast, capturing both the Bass Strait and the Separation Creek valley. Living spaces are left open to take advantage of the vistas from the wall of glazing and are anchored by a 4-sided fireplace. When the glass facade is open, the interior expands to a sheltered outdoor terrace floating in the canopies.
