Developed over 18 months in direct collaboration with Bugatti, Jacob & Co.’s new Bugatti Tourbillon watch is a hyper sports car for your wrist — literally. With 557components, a V16 engine block-inspired automaton powered by the intricate, one-of-a-kind Caliber JCAM55 movement, a 30-second flying tourbillon, and a 48-hour power reserve with a double power reserve indicator, what’s “under the hood” uniquely suits the successor to the Chiron, but it does more than match its performance. The watch’s entire identity — 10 defining design features, to be exact — is drawn from the car, from its case shape with sapphire “windows” meant to match those on the vehicle to its sub-dials designed like the car’s dashboard. But the most striking element is the built-in “engine,” which mirrors the real-life V16 engine of Bugatti’s Tourbillon, thanks to the automation mentioned above, which is a single block of transparent sapphire bonded with 16 cylinders housing 16 titanium pistons driven by a single-axis crankshaft.
