Xiaomi SU7 Ultra EV | Uncrate

What’s the difference between smartphones and electric cars? Not much, as Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has released the SU7 Ultra, an electric hypercar. Xiaomi announced its entry into the electric car market earlier in 2024, with the SU7 poised to compete against the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. The SU7 Ultra builds on the base model with a triple-motor powertrain, making 1,517 horsepower, 853 more than the top SU7 Max trim. Along with the extra motors is a carbon fiber aero kit that produces more than 4,700 pounds of downforce and reduces weight by over 1,000 pounds. Xiaomi claims a 0-62 MPH time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 MPH. The SU7 Ultra won’t be available to just anyone, however — the company will require passing a special driving test in order to purchase one. Xiaomi is slated to open orders for the SU7 Ultra early next year.
