Featured Deal: Yakuza: Like a Dragon | $30

The best Sony PlayStation deals for August 2021 are here.

The PS5 has been out in the wild for some months now, but good luck finding one: they’ve been popping in and out of stock at retailers, and they’re likely to remain scarce for months to come. It’s the usual console launch routine, but we wish you well if you’re still on the hunt.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for deals on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games alike, along with accessories, then you’ll find stellar savings below.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon | $30

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is down to $30 on and PlayStation 4/5, which is 50% off its normal price. Like a Dragon is the latest in the Yakuza series, which just seems to get increasingly weirder as time goes on. The biggest change this time around is a pivot to turn-combat, a departure for the series. You can also do a bunch of wacky and mundane side-missions like can collecting and go karting and that’s really the selling point here, frankly.

Red Dead Redemption 2 | $20

Well there, pardner. It’s the end of the line for you. Here’s what you and me’s is gonna do. We go to the town square and stand back to back. Then we each take 10 paces. At the end of your paces, you’ll find a laptop and you can use it to download Red Dead Redemption 2 for $20 at Walmart, so long as you are an Xbox Live Gold member. I reckon it’s the most rootinest tootenst cowboy vidya game on this side of the Mississippi. While you do that, I’m gonna go take a bath. Anyways, then one of us will shoot the other and kill them. Forgot about that part. Actually, scratch that, let’s just play Red Dead Online together, amigo.

Marvel’s Avengers | $20

Hold on to your Marvel loving butts, folks. Marvel’s Avengers is down to $20 at Best Buy today. Yep, Square Enix’s live service superhero game is mighty cheap at the moment just as its DLC rollout kicks into a delayed full gear. You can now get two different Hawkeyes in the game and Black Panther. The latter is genuinely exciting, so $20 is a good price to pay for curiosity. It’s hard to imagine those prices getting much lower, but I’ll believe anything when it comes to this game at this point.

Final Fantasy VII Remake | $44-60

Many understandably jumped at the chance to play Final Fantasy VII Remake the day it came out, and I’d say they got their money’s worth then. If you’ve been holding though, it’s time to reunite with Cloud and the gang on PlayStation 4 (free upgrade for PS5). Now you can do it for only $44 at Amazon. Alternatively, you can grab it for PS5 outright for $60 which will also grant you the Intergrade DLC focusing on Yuffie Kisaragi. That normally goes for $20 so you’ll save a few dollars going directly with the PS5 version.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales | $30

Insomniac’s Spider-Man spinoff is even better than the original game, starring young Miles Morales as an inexperienced web-slinger learning the ropes while his new superhero antics intersect with his personal life. It’s marked down to just $30 right now on PlayStation 4 for the standard edition.

Watchdogs Legion | $20-$30

Watchdogs Legion is Ubisoft’s experiment in letting you play as anyone. Literally every NPC can be recruited into your faction and then taken control of as the main player. From spies to old ladies to just some guy. And Ubisoft is taking it even further by letting you be some guy who saves $30 to $40 when buying a video game. Both the PlayStation 4 version and the PlayStation 5 version are available for $20.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition | $51

The Mass Effect trilogy is an expansive sci-fi fantasy series that will take you over 100 hours and that’s just your first playthrough. Now is your chance to meet Garrus, Mordin, Tali, Liara, and every other squadmate the internet hasn’t shut up about. Though in all honestly I get it. After playing, I can confirm that the squadmates are easily the best part of the series which is why I can confirm Mass Effect 2 is the best of the three. Fight me.
