Andy Waugh Decadence Catamaran | Uncrate, #Andy #Waugh #Decadence #Catamaran #Uncrate

Who wouldn’t want a 264-foot yacht that looks like a modern interpretation of a classic prewar automobile? The Decadence by designer Andy Waugh takes its inspiration from the past for a completely futuristic look at what modern materials and manufacturing can do for the future of yachts. The Decadence sports a Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH), something Waugh thinks has been underutilized in the luxury yacht space. That hull configuration is what makes the vessel’s design possible, with two submerged cylindrical outer hulls connected to the main hull by stilts. This minimizes the hull area at the sea surface, reducing pitch and roll and giving the motors less drag to push against. While each yacht would be built-to-order, Waugh envisions a main cabin approaching the average size of an NYC apartment, with the crew housed in the outer sponsons and hulls, with the main hull reserved for guests.
