Legendary designer Adrian Newey is going out with a bang. Newey’s final project for Red Bull will be the RB17, a no-holds-barred hypercar that translates decades of Formula One experience into what could be the ultimate customer car. Weighing just 1,984 pounds, the RB17 delivers 1,200 horsepower from a V10 that redlines at 15,000 RPM, mated to a carbon fiber gearbox. The drivetrain is cradled in a two-seat carbon fiber monocoque chassis enclosed in aerodynamically sculpted bodywork, with Red Bull claiming F1-equivalent lap times in qualified hands and a top speed of more than 217 MPH. Each of the 50 cars will include a full suite of maintenance services and access to exclusive track days to explore the limits of the RB17.
