Persol has made a version of the Protector, more formally known as style 2496, since 1917. For the 2023 edition of the I.C.E. St. Moritz, the Italian brand has made a special version of these sporty icons. Perfectly suited to drivers who chose to take their classic cars onto the frozen iced lake, they have a removable black perforated leather sweatband and blinders, which combine with the Mirror Silver lenses to preserve visibility in the inevitable icy glare. Handmade in Italy, the frames themselves have a gunmetal finish, as well as black temple tips with Protector lettering and Meflecto technology. The shades arrive in a black leather case.
