1928 Mercedes-Benz Sports Tourer | Uncrate

In the late 1920s, few cars were as fast as the Mercedes-Benz Sports Tourer. The car was designed by Ferdinand Porsche shortly after the merger of Daimler and Benz and had a reputation for speed among celebrities and the wealthy. The Great Depression would ultimately be its downfall, with only 146 made between 1927 and 1930. This 1928 Sport Tourer has been in the same family since 1964, with a restoration commissioned in 1968. This lead to a massive amount of documentation by the owner, detailing its journey from Germany to the UK and finally the United States. The car has been regularly driven, immaculately maintained, and is an excellent example of Mercedes’ pre-war Golden Age.
