BMW brought its lineup into the Jet Age in 1955 when it unveiled the 507 roadster at the Frankfurt Auto Show. 252 units were produced, with a hand-formed aluminum body, front double wishbones, and a solid rear axle. Due to the handwork, each 507 is individually unique, with no two cars being exactly the same. Power came from a 3.2-liter alloy V8 with dual carbs, giving the 507 impressive performance for its day. This 1957 507’s ownership history has been documented by BMW Classic, passing through the hands of people like BMW collector Dr. Leland House and Attachmate founder Frank Pritt. The current owner has displayed the car only once in 2015 and shows how well it’s been maintained. The 507 goes up for auction at Gooding & Co.’s Geared Online auction in May.
