- Volvo announced that it will give away $2 million worth of cars if the Kansas City Chiefs or Tampa Bay Buccaneers score a safety in Super Bowl LV.
- To enter, participants must configure a Volvo of their own and submit a unique configuration code.
- A safety is a rarely occurring two-point play that occurs when the defensive team tackles the offensive team or forces them to fumble or commit a penalty in the end zone.
UPDATE 01/25/2021: Volvo will give away $2 million worth of cars this year if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Kansas City Chiefs make the two-point play in Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021. Participants can build their Volvo here for entry in the sweepstakes.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will play for the Lombardi trophy next weekend in Miami, Florida, and in the unlikely event one of the two teams scores a two-point safety, Volvo will give away $1 million worth of 2020 cars to select participants.
It’s pretty easy, and fun, to enter. All you need to do is visit this link, configure a 2020 Volvo of your own (we love configuring cars of our own), and submit a unique configuration code. You have until kickoff on February 2 to enter and can choose any 2020 Volvo available in the U.S. with any trim or color. We would choose a 2020 Volvo V60 T8 Polestar Engineered for our entry.
Safeties are rare, though. They occur in maybe one out of 20 NFL games. If the defensive team forces the offensive team to be tackled, lose the ball or fumble, or commit a penalty in the end zone, they get two points and the ball back via a free kick.
So, hop on the configurator, spec a Volvo of your own, and if you don’t care about football or either team playing this year, tune in to Super Bowl LIV at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 2, and root for a safety. All of the rules and information about the contest can be found here.
