Built as a family vacation home, the Casa Abierta takes advantage of the warm summers in central Chile with an oversized roof. The shed-like shelter hovers above two shipping containers, creating a large covered outdoor space. The additional open area extends the compact interiors outside and acts as a space for work, leisure, and play. Both containers are painted black and clad in timber. The wood continues to the interior, lining the walls, floors, and veiling, while large glass panels frame in views of the surrounding landscape.
