Spyker merged with a Dutch aircraft maker in 1914, started building WWI fighter planes alongside its cars, and adopted a motto it still uses today: Nulla Tenaci Invia Est Via, “for the tenacious, no road is impassable.” That aviation history runs through the new C8 Preliator XXV in ways beyond styling. While most modern hypercars default to carbon fiber, Spyker hand-shapes this car’s body entirely in aluminum, worked and polished by craftsmen rather than molded, and each of the 25 units gets its chassis number hand-stamped into the space frame, so no two impressions come out quite alike. The whole front and rear lifts open at once in what Spyker calls “butterfly mode,” a callback to its earliest models, with the fuel tank relocated from the sills to a space behind the seats, a placement borrowed directly from Spyker’s own Le Mans race cars. Inside, there are no paddle shifters and only one screen, a head-up display. Everything else stays mechanical, including a true six-speed manual running behind the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8’s 800 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque.
