After two years of development, New York startup Pave Motors’ sleek BK e-bike is ready for production. The BK’s minimalist frame is made from aircraft-grade aluminum, with power coming from a 3,000w brushless DC hub motor — good for a top speed of 30 MPH. A removable 1.85kWh lithium-ion battery pack gives the BK a range of 50 miles, with a 0-80% charging time of one hour on a standard household outlet. The BK sports a USD front fork and regenerative hydraulic disc brakes all around, with GPS tracking via a smartphone app with over-the-air updates and blockchain-secured digital key system to keep the bike secure. Available for order now, the BK is scheduled to start deliveries in July 2023.
