Ferrari built exactly one Enzo in a matte finish, and delivered it new to a member of the royal family of Brunei, a family with a long history of ordering bespoke, one-off cars from European manufacturers. The paint, called Matte Nero Opaco, made this the first Ferrari hypercar the factory ever delivered in matte, years before matte finishes became common on the road. Ken Okuyama’s Pininfarina-designed body stayed matched inside with black leather trimmed in red gauges and oversized seats, and the car spent its early years making occasional appearances around London before eventually moving to the Asia-Pacific region. It returned to Europe in 2022 for a full restoration at Carrozzeria Zanasi, the same facility Ferrari uses for its Icona series and Tailor-Made program cars, with invoices totaling more than $127,900 and a repaint back to its original Nero Opaco. Ferrari Classiche certified the car that same year, confirming it retains its original chassis, engine, gearbox, and bodywork, and it shows just 3,581 miles from new.
