WhatsApp Adds Face ID or Touch ID Authentication When Linking to Desktop

Whatsapp has announced a new security measure that will require an unlock of your device via Face ID or Touch ID before linking to WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop.

Today we’re starting to roll out a new security feature for WhatsApp Web and Desktop: face and fingerprint unlock when linking devices.

WhatsApp does not see your face or fingerprint data.
