During the 1992 Olympic Gold Medal ceremony, Michael Jordan stood with an American flag draped over his right shoulder — the flag pictured here, going to auction in New York. Aside from the obvious symbolism, the flag was also used by Jordan to strategically hide the Reebok logo on the Team USA uniforms — little wonder why he might want to do that. Easily one of the most talented sports teams ever assembled, the flag bears the signatures of the 1992 Dream Team, among them Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Christian Laettner, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, and John Stockton. The flag will be auctioned as part of The Ultimate Jordan Collection on October 23, 2024 by Sotheby’s.
