Maserati is taking the heart of its MC20 sports car and transforming it into a track-only supercar, code-named Project24. While not specified by Maserati, Project24 looks to use the carbon fiber monocoque from the MC20, along with its screaming three-liter, twin-turbo V6, tuned to make 740 horsepower in Project24 guise. Renders of the exterior show radically different bodywork designed with maximum downforce in mind, along with new suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, track-only tires, and FIA-spec safety equipment. All this in a package that Maserati claims to weigh less than 2,750 pounds. Only 62 units will be produced.
