macOS Monterey Beta May Reveal Resolutions of New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros
The screen resolutions for Apple’s rumored new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros may have been revealed in the latest beta of macOS Monterey.
MacRumors contributor Steve Moser spotted two new resolutions of “3456 x 2234 Retina” and “3024 x 1964 Retina” in the seventh beta of macOS Monterey that do not correspond to resolutions of any current Apple products.
The 2020 16-inch MacBook Pro has a resolution of 3072×1920 and the current 13-inch MacBook Pro has a resolution of 2560×1600. That works out to around 226-227 ppi. If the new resolutions are indeed for the new MacBook Pros then they would increase pixel density to around 250 ppi. Notably, that would allow for a native 2x Retina resolution instead of a scaled resolution.
Apple is expected to unveil its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros later this fall. It’s likely that both will feature a new M1X processor. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for updates.
