MacBook Air to Get Major Redesign With Multiple Colors, White Bezels, No Taper [Rumor]
Apple is planning a major redesign of the MacBook Air, according to a new report from leaker Jon Prosser.
Sources have provided Prosser with images of an unreleased blue MacBook. Based on the I/O, it appears to be a significant update to the MacBook Air.
The MacBook is said to feature colors that are very close if not identical to the shades you see on the stand for the new 24-inch iMac.
There are two USB-C ports, one on either side. However, Prosser was unable to determine if the notebook had MagSafe. On the bottom, Apple has replaced the four rubber feet with two strips that run front to back.
The screen bezels are white and so are the keys. Interestingly, the keyboard has full size function keys rather than the half size ones in use now.
The most notable change is the shape of the MacBook. It’s no longer tapered.
“We’re not seeing that same wedged design. Now it’s completely flat.”
You can check out some renders of the rumored design below. Apple is expected to unveil the new MacBook at the end of 2021, at the earliest.
