McLaren has one of the best engineering teams in the world and applies its expertise to more than just Formula One and supercars. Lavoie is one such endeavor, leveraging McLaren’s expertise to create a sleek electric scooter. The Series 1 uses a frame made from automotive-grade magnesium and weighs just 36 pounds, helping it get 31 miles of range. The Flowfold system allows the Series 1 to fold down at the touch of a button for transportation or stowing, and a smartphone app adds navigation, stats, and tracking. A novel lighting system also illuminates the rider, making them more visible at night. McLaren and Lavoie haven’t announced a launch date for the Series 1 but will open orders for the scooter in January 2023.
