911 restomod specialist KALMAR has launched a US-based operation with a high-profile partner — Porsche legend Bruse Canepa. The first KALMAR build to arrive in the US is the KALMAR Canepa 7-97 C1. Based on the 993, the C1 wears carbon fiber bodywork styled after the Carerra RSR of the early ’70s. Underneath the carbon is KALMAR’s ‘Triple 4’ 4.0-liter flat-six, making 400 horsepower. An all-wheel-drive system with a six-speed gearbox and adaptive suspension allows for electronic aids like traction control to maximize performance. Inside is a leather interior with Recaro sports seats and modern amenities like a concealed Bluetooth sound system and updated HVAC. Production of the 7-97 C1 is limited to 12 units per year.
