Ducati has long been a master of the pavement with its high-performance motorcycles. Now they’re looking to bring that to the trail with the new DesertX, coming in 2022. Unlike the 2019 scrambler-based concept, the production DesertX uses an all-new frame and the proven Testastretta engine. The 937cc L-twin delivers 110 horsepower and 68 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed gearbox with shortened first through fifth gears and a longer sixth for getting to the trail. A KYB inverted fork and KYB monoshock provide 9.1 and 8.7 inches of travel respectively, with Brembo monoblock calipers providing the stopping power. The DesertX has a full suite of electronic aids from ABS to a bi-directional quickshifter, and six engine modes. The DesertX arrives in June 2022.
