A new company has released a concept based inspired by the DeLorean DMC-12 — the JZD. DeLorean Next Generation Motors is a separate company, unaffiliated with DeLorean Reimagined, which released the Alpha5 concept at the 2022 Pebble Beach event. The JZD takes its name from John Zachary DeLorean and its shape from the original DMC-12. The sleek, fastback coupe has the requisite gullwing doors and a 2+2 interior layout. While still in the very early stages, DeLorean’s daughter, Kat DeLorean Seymour, is involved in the project, along with some of DMC’s engineers. The car is expected to have an electric drivetrain, with the concept completed in January 2023 with a public debut later that year.
