Casa Bautista | Uncrate
Located in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Casa Bautista is an eco-luxe retreat nestled between the lush Tulum jungle and the crystal waters of the Caribbean. The impressive escapist’s paradise fuses traditional Brutalism design with elements of Brazilian modernism to form a concrete and timber L-shaped structure. Appearing to be forgotten by time, its blue-tinted walls are draped in vines and tightly tucked among the trees. A sculpted staircase connects the interior, containing five guest rooms, a shared living area, and a rooftop terrace with a pool overlooking the canopies and the sea. Wooden screens fold open to expand the interior out to tzalam timber terraces built by local carpenters. Matching pergolas shade the outdoor spaces and lead guests to the white dunes, where they explore the waters with the included kayaks and snorkeling gear. For sustainability, the property is powered by solar and wind systems, while local artisan coffee and organic honey from the Oaxaca jungle are provided for each stay.
