BMW’s 2022 acquisition of Alpina transferred the badge but left the founding family behind. The Bovensiepen sons, working out of the same Buchloe factory where Alpina was built for over five decades, launched their own nameplate. The 05 GT is their second model, built on the BMW M5 Touring and redesigned by Frank Stephenson, the man behind the Ferrari F430, the reborn Mini, and the McLaren P1. The exterior gets a laser-cut stainless steel grille, reshaped bumpers, and a wraparound design line connecting front to rear. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust with four oval tailpipes shaves 17 pounds from the stock setup and adds a bass-heavy note. The hybrid 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 800 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque, enough to hit 62 mph in under 3.6 seconds on the way to a 190-mph top speed. Inside, every car gets a numbered production plate, a handcrafted Lavalina leather steering wheel, and full bespoke upholstery options from the in-house workshop. Production is capped at 200 cars per year.
