Benchmarks Reveal New iPad Mini Has Downclocked A15 Processor

Early benchmarks for Apple’s new iPad mini 6 reveal the tablet is using a downclocked A15 Bionic chip, reports MacRumors.

What appears to be legitimate Geekbench 5 results for the new iPad mini reveal a 2.9GHz chip, slightly lower than the 3.2GHz chip for the iPhone 13. This results in a 2-8% reduction in performance compared to the iPhone 13.

The iPad mini averages single-core and multi-core scores of 1592 and 4494, compared to around 1730 and 4583 for the iPhone 13 Pro.

Even with downclocking, the new iPad mini is still up to 40% faster in single-core performance and up to 70% faster in multi-core performance when compared to the iPad mini 5.

You can pre-order the new iPad mini right now starting at $499. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for more updates.
