Babe Ruth’s Called Shot Jersey, #Babe #Ruths #Called #Shot #Jersey

During the fifth inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, Babe Ruth stepped to the plate and pointed in the direction of the outfield. What, exactly, he was pointing at is unclear; what is clear is his ball landed in the stands roughly where he was pointing, resulting in the home run becoming known as the “called shot”, arguably the most famous dinger in baseball history. Thanks to photo-matching by MeiGray Authenticated, this jersey has been verified as the one Ruth wore during the game. The road gray New York Yankees jersey is in remarkable condition for its age and will be auctioned by Heritage as part of its Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction in August, with the jersey likely to set a new record for the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever sold.
