Apple Store Via Del Corso

In collaboration with Foster + Partners, Apple has converted Italy’s Palazzo Marignoli into the tech brand’s largest store in Europe. The building was constructed between 1878 and 1883 by architect Salvatore Bianchi for Marquis Filippo Marignoli. It later housed Caffè Aragno — a renowned gathering spot for artists and writers. To celebrate its historic heritage, an extensive restoration carefully preserved original details, including large frescos by Fabio Cipolla and Ettore Ballerini, hand-painted ceilings, and a staircase forged from locally sourced Carrara marble. These period pieces are showcased alongside recovered graffiti panels by Italian painter Afro Basaldella. At the heart of the store is the central courtyard. Planted with native Camphora trees, olive trees, and jasmine vines, the lush outdoor area references the traditional Roman roof terraces.
