Airstream has been in business for nearly 100 years. The Basecamp Xe is their first all-electric camper and, thus, noteworthy beyond its functionality. On the roof are 600W of rooftop solar panels, which feed power to the 10.3kWh lithium Battle Born battery pack, and then a 3,000W inverter. As a result, it can run all the outlets, trailer functions, and even the optional A/C unit and microwave when off-grid, with a 20-pound propane tank for outdoor grilling that works as a backup fuel source for the furnace and hot water heater. It’s built for off-road use, with a 3-inch lift, chunky tires, and stone guards, and offers a bathroom with a shower, a dedicated sleeping space in the back, and a convertible dinette for additional guests.
