Just when you thought Godzilla was dead, it comes walking back out of the ocean and levels your city. But this might really be the last show for the R35 GT-R, Nissan’s all-wheel drive sports car that’s been in production since 2007, although Nissan hasn’t officially announced its termination. The 2025 GT-R reveal is for the Japanese version of the car, and changes are minimal. The Premium Edition — the base model for the US market — gets a very attractive Blue Heaven interior colorway. The T-Spec and Track Edition, tuned by NISMO, get weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods, and crankshafts that were only available on the NISMO Special Edition. Japanese publication Mag X has reported that production of the 2025 GT-R will be limited to 1,500 units. With the car’s reputation and long production history, expectations are that Nissan will officially send the R35 out with a final special edition.
