YouTube Premium Subscribers Can Now Use Picture-in-Picture On iOS

YouTube Premium subscribers can now use picture-in-picture on iOS as an ‘experimental new feature’.

For a limited time, Premium members can try out new features that we’re working on. As a Premium member, you’ll also enjoy ad-free videos, downloads and more.

Picture-in-picture on iOS – Available until 31 Oct
With picture-in-picture (PiP), watch YouTube videos in a mini player while using other apps.

How to use: While you are watching a video, swipe up (or press home) to close the app and watch in a mini player.

Note:
• Locking the screen while watching in PiP will pause the video. You can resume the video by using the lock screen media controls.
• We’re working on improving these, so stay tuned.

Back in June, YouTube confirmed that it plans to roll out support for picture-in-picture to all users in the United States. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for updates.
