Apple has lost multiple top managers from its autonomous vehicle project, according a new report from Bloomberg.
Apple is said to have hundreds of engineers working self-driving car technology and groups working on an actual vehicle. The division is led by former Tesla engineer Doug Field and a management team of less than a dozen executives.
At least three members of the management team have departed this year.
Recently, Dave Scott, who led robotics teams, has left to become CEO at Hyperfine, a health care company developing next generation MRI systems.
Jaime Waydo, who was in charge of autonomous car safety and regulation teams, left Apple to become CTO of Cavnue, a startup focused on the safety of autonomous cars on public roads.
In February, Benjamin Lyon, who helped created the original car team, left to become chief engineer at Astra, a company developing tech for sending satellites into orbit.
Despite these departures, Bloomberg notes that Apple has added some notable names to the team over the past few years. These include Tesla executives in charge of drive systems and manufacturing engineers, car interiors and exteriors, and self-driving software.
