Electrification is seemingly inevitable for the auto industry, even for internal-combustion maestros such as Ferrari. The brand’s new 819-hp 812 Competizione—the latest iteration of the front-engined F12 that debuted for 2012—is the end of an era: the last of the non-hybrid V-12-powered Ferraris.

There’s no rear window on the 812 Competizione. Instead, Ferrari fits a panel that’s lighter than glass and features small, riblike vortex generators to help balance the air pressure over the body.
