Norman Reedus x Powerplant Indian Sport Chief Motorcycle

Norman Reedus has been a long-time customer of Los Angeles-based bike builder Powerplant Motorcycles. When the die-hard motorcyclist went to Powerplant for a new build, Indian stepped in with an offer — start with a Sport Chief. The finished product is a bike that perfectly captures the spirit of ’70s SoCal biker culture. Powerplant made extensive modifications, repositioning the rear shock mounts and swingarm for a more appropriately-size rear tire, and fabbed up a new rear fender with grab handle and classic smoked LED taillight. The front fender was removed and replaced with a custom brace and narrower front wheel, while the OEM fairing was retained — albeit with custom flames matching the rest of the paintwork. A hand-fabbed fuel tank rides higher on new mounts, while the handlebars and switch gear all remain stock. The Thunderstroke 116 v-twin and six-speed transmission remain unchanged. Watch the design phase and reveal — with a heavenly exhaust note.
