The Tamiya Wild One reached levels of ’80s stardom usually reserved for the cars like Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari F40. Released in 1985, the 1:10 scale RC dune buggy’s styling and high-quality parts made it one of the most popular RC cars ever. Now ’80s kids can check a childhood dream off the list with the Wild One Max, an electric full-size Wild One that requires a driver and not a pistol-grip controller. The Wild One Max Launch Edition features Cobra racing seats, four-point harnesses, front and rear Brembo brakes, Bilstein dampers with Eibach springs, and Maxxis off-road tires. The Wild One measures just under 12 feet long, with 10.6 inches of ground clearance and approach, departure, and breakover angles that would make most off-road trucks envious. Performance figures haven’t been released, but the Wild One will begin production in 2024 by The Little Car Company.
