1964 24 Hours of Le Mans Framed Print

Part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the greatest — and most grueling — races in the world. This historic black and white photo from Rainer Schlegelmilch shows the beginning of the 1964 edition. In the frame is a group of drivers running to their cars at the beginning of the race on June 22, including John Surtees, whose Ferrari 3330P started on the pole, and Richie Ginther, who piloted a Ford GT40 Mk.1. Surtees and co-driver Lorenzo Bandini would go on to a third-place finish, while Ginther scored a DNF with gearbox issues. The photo is printed on Fuji crystal archive paper, numbered and certified, and comes encased inside a hand-made solid wood white or black frame that’s ready to hang. Limited edition of 495.
