Apple to Introduce Under Display Face ID System in 2023 [Report]

Apple is planning to introduce an under display Face ID system in 2023, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The under display Face ID system will purportedly debut alongside a new periscope telephoto lens. A periscope style lens would allow Apple to increase the optical zoom capabilities of iPhone without a lens that extends out of the camera. Kuo previously predicted this type of lens would arrive in 2022.

Last month, Kuo said Apple could drop the notch in favor of a ‘punch-hole‘ display design for some 2022 iPhone models. It’s possible that an under display Face ID system could help Apple move to a display design with no notch and no cutouts in 2023.

There have also been rumors that suggest Apple is working on under display Touch ID for the iPhone. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for updates.
