How about 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and a 155-mph top speed, both delivered with utmost smoothness and civility? Yes, a 500SL isn’t much slower but is much less expensive, but that’s not really the point. The point, for 600SL buyers, is to own the best. And, in the realm of Mercedes droptops, this is unequivocally the best.
