SCA Yachting, a Turkish company that specializes in charters and refits, has announced that they will be starting construction on a 131-foot zero-emissions yacht — powered by the wind. Turning to the original environmentally-friendly transportation technology, SCA will also use sustainable materials in the yacht’s construction, namely laminated wood, along with two Volvo diesel engines when the wind is calm. While the materials and tech might be ancient, the design is anything but. Christened the Boa Kingdom, the yacht sports classic single-mast lines with a modern edge — something extends to the passenger accommodations. The vessel can house up to 12 guests, with an open-air dining area and 52-foot swim platform, jacuzzi, and storage for two jet skis. Construction on the Boa Kingdom is slated to begin in June 2023.
