In business since 1842, Riva made its name creating eye-catching wooden boats. The firm now makes superyachts as well, and the upcoming 70Metri is the largest flagship in Riva’s history. Measuring 230 feet — 53 more than the previous title holder — it was designed for a repeat client via a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. The sleek design sports a steel hull over an aluminum superstructure, has a hybrid propulsion system, and will be built at Riva’s Ancona shipyard.
