Photo Purportedly Reveals New Packaging for iPhone 13 Without Plastic Wrap

During its ‘California Streaming’ event, Apple announced it was removing the outer plastic wrap from iPhone 13 product boxes. The company estimates this will avoid the use of 600 metric tons of plastic.

If you’re wondering how Apple will prevent its product boxes from opening during transit, DuanRui has shared a photo that purportedly reveals how the new boxes are secured. A tearaway sticker bridges the bottom and top of the box holding it together until you pull the tab to tear apart the sticker.

Pre-orders for the new iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max went live today. Customers should begin receiving their new smartphones on September 24th.
