Based on the same technology that made Marty McFly’s Mags a reality, the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is ready to bring auto-lacing technology into the real world. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield with an assist from Tiffany Beers, the shoes hide their mechanical systems under under the arch, using a sensor to tell when you’ve stepped in, and automatically adjusting the laces to fit your foot. From there, two buttons let you tighten and loosen as necessary, but this is only the beginning — Nike claims that future models may be able to dynamically adjust the laces on the fly. Offered exclusively to Nike+ members, they come in three colorways.
