New 12.9-inch iPad Pro May Be Slightly Thicker to Accommodate Mini-LED Display [Report]

Apple is planning to launch a new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro in March, according to a new report from Macotakara.

The site says that while the overall housing design remains unchanged the 12.9-inch model is 0.5mm thicker. This suggests that only the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model will be updated with a mini-LED display.

As for the rumored mini LED display, sources say it may be an option for the 12.9-inch model as only the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) will increase in thickness by 0.5mm

Additionally, the report says that the speaker holes on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be reduced by two thirds and be located in a different position. Finally, the camera bump will remain the same but the lens covers will no longer protrude from the bump.

Apple is also expected to unveil new MacBooks with mini-LED displays this year. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for further updates.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is on sale for $50 off$100 off today.
