Huawei Unveils New Mate X2 Foldable Smartphone [Video]
Huawei has unveiled its next generation foldable smartphone, the Mate X2.
Behold, the new foldable HUAWEI Mate X2 arrives to impress. Folded, it fits perfectly in your pocket and palm as a 6.45-inch flagship smartphone, ready for use on the go. Unfolded, its 8-inch FullView Display offers an eye-opening viewing experience.
The smartphone has a wedge shape that tapers down to 4.4mm when unfolded, putting the center of gravity closer to where you hold it. As you handle it, the Huawei Mate X2 will automatically detect signal changes and direct power to less obscured antennas to maintain connection speeds.
The smartphone is powered by a 5nm Kirin 9000 5G SoC, 24-core Mali-G78 GPU, and a 3-core (2 big plus 1 tiny) NPU for AI processing.
There are four rear cameras on board including a 50 MP Ultra Vision Camera (Wide Angle, f/1.9 aperture, OIS), a 16 MP Cine Camera (Ultra-Wide Angle, f/2.2 aperture), a 12 MP Telephoto Camera (3x Optical Zoom, f/2.4 aperture, OIS), and an 8 MP SuperZoom Camera (10x Optical Zoom, f/4.4 aperture, OIS) with AF.
HUAWEI Mate X2’s Ultra Vision Leica Quad Camera pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in a photo. From dawn to dusk and beyond, capture yourself in your best light, and the world in all its creativity. Distance is no barrier with HUAWEI Mate X2’s extraordinary 3x and 10x optical telephoto lens. Capture far away scenes in truly stunning clarity, and see even the tiniest, most intricate detail with the up-to-100x digital zoom.
The phone runs on EMUI 11.0 (Based on Android 10) but does not have Google’s apps. It will get an update to the company’s HarmonyOS in April.
The Mate X2 starts at 17,999 yuan ($2789) and comes in four colors: Crystal Blue, Crystal Pink, and classic Black and White.
