Located in the North Ecuadorian Andes, Casa San Pablo del Lago is a celebration of Ecuador’s impressive scenery. The retreat is partially embedded into a hillside, cantilevering toward the lake below. Its roof acts as a lookout point across the water, volcanoes, and the town of Pijal, while the area below serves as a sheltered terrace for outdoor gatherings. Inside the concrete and steel structure, living spaces float above the ground and are clad entirely in glass, immersing the interior in views of the dramatic landscapes.
