Brabus x Andy Warhol Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing

Mercedes commissioned Andy Warhol to do a series of prints celebrating the brand’s autos in 1986. The resulting artwork was known as the “Cars Series” and covered everything from vintage racers to modern Mercedes concept cars. One highlight of the collection was a 300 SL Gullwing — the car seen here and recently restored by Brabus. Brabus went on the hunt for the car, and after an extensive search, located Chassis number 198.040-5500629. The car was subjected to a nut-and-bolt restoration taking over 4,500 man-hours to complete by Brabus’ 6-Star Restoration program. A complete disassembly, including the engine, has brought the 300 SL back to factory-fresh condition, along with a new coat of paint in its original color.
