Lexus IS Wax Edition Sedan

A moving vehicle is a less-than-ideal place to playback vinyl records. That didn’t stop Lexus from putting a fully functional turntable in the dash of the IS Wax Edition. A one-off vehicle based on the 2021 Lexus IS sports sedan, it was created in partnership with Pitchfork, DJ and producer MC Madlib, and artist and producer Kaytranda. The turntable itself was created with a 3D printer and modified with carbon fiber, machined aluminum, and a motor that helps stabilize the platter. It can play full-size 12-inch records and is presumably hooked to a Mark Levinson sound system. The IS Wax Edition will not be for sale but will be on display at future Lexus events.
