Bardstown Bourbon Train Excursion | Uncrate

Nestled in rolling hills an hour south of Louisville, Kentucky, Bardstown is in the heart of bourbon country. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train’s Bardstown Bourbon Excursion offers a two-and-a-half-hour train ride through the scenic countryside, complete with a four-course meal and bourbon tasting. From the historic depot in Bardstown, patrons will board two restored 1940’s dinner cars pulled by vintage 1950’s F-unit locomotives. The meal is prepared fresh en route, while a master distiller performs the bourbon tasting. The route passes through notable locations like the Jim Beam distillery, Jesse James’ safe house, and the Jackson Hollow Trestle, with a lesson in the area’s history presented along the way.
