Apple’s next generation AirPods could ship alongside its next generation iPhone, according to a new report from DigiTimes.
Shipments of flexible PCBs (FPCB) and SiP modules for use in the next-generation AirPods have kicked off in small volumes, and will be scaled up between late third-quarter and fourth-quarter 2021, according to industry sources at the upstream supply chain of the AirPods.
Sources tell the site there is a “good chance” that the new AirPods will be “debuted at Apple’s product launch in the second half of the year”.
We’ve seen numerous AirPods 3 leaks this year. The new earbuds look more similar to AirPods Pro but are not expected to offer advanced features like active noise cancellation and transparency mode.
