Maserati has introduced the MC20 Cielo, the retractable roof version of its MC20 fixed-roof supercar. Cielo is Italian for “sky” — an appropriate moniker, as the top doesn’t just fold into the decklid in 12 seconds; the Webasto glass top can also go from clear to opaque at the touch of a button. Even the weather isn’t cooperating, owners can bring the outdoors that much closer without getting a hair wet. The retractable roof means that the 3-liter, twin-turbo 621 horsepower V6 can be seen through a glass panel as on the coupe, with a large Maserati trident taking that space instead. Maserati kept weight gain down to 143 pounds over the coupe, with 0-60 still taking a blistering 2.9 seconds, with 0-124 MPH coming four-tenths slower at 9.2 seconds. New Roman numeral-themed wheels are shared for 2022 with the coupe, along with an optional Alcantara steering wheel and a PrimaSerie Launch Edition limited to 60 cars.
